Katy Holub
Katy stuarted riding as an adult. After one year of practice with a dowtown law firm, the senior partner thought she was working too much and introduced her to riding. As he states, it was like putting a match to gasoline. Within six months Katy bought her first horse, Suchard, a quarter horse mare. Within a few years of many lessons and participating in the Rider Development Program with Ralph Hill, Katy was training the mare at the preliminary level. After Suchard, Katy bought her next horse Uncle Pete, a throughbred gelding. It was through her work with Vicky Harris on Pete that Katty competed at many preliminary competitions in the Midwest, Florida, and on the East Coast before competing at Morven Park CCI* 3-day event without jumping penalties.
Upon purchasing Trophy Hill Farm with David Holub, Katy experience the humbling job of riding and training young thoroughbred horses coming off the track. She trained her mare Kadance to the Preliminary level and started many youngsters before reselling them. She enjoys designing Trophy Hill's cross-country course in conjunction with husband David.
Katy is continually striving to learn more in dressage, cross-country and show jumping. She regularly participates in lessons and clinics to improve her skills.
Although Katy enjoys teaching she is directing interested students to Liz Lund for instruction.
